As both a video producer and an analyst of emerging technologies, StorageMojo likes to stay abreast of what’s happening in the media world. Video remains a major driver of infrastructure requirements and commercial opportunity – a yeasty combination that encourages architectural creativity.

Thus I’m pleased to be attending this month’s Creative Storage Conference. I’ll be chairing a panel discussion on Storage for Content Delivery, which is a mashup of both storage and network technologies.

The StorageMojo take
Video content – when well produced – is simply a richer experience than most text. Our brains are pattern-recognition machines that love moving pictures. The fact that we can know in advance how long a video will take doesn’t hurt either – time is precious.

That’s why StorageMojo started producing video over 5 years ago. Words aren’t going away – hey, you’re reading this! – but video is a powerful communication tool that enables new ways to connect with the world.

Video literacy will become almost as important as verbal literacy is today by the end of the 21st century. And it will use a lot more storage!

Courteous comments welcome, of course. Always welcome meeting StorageMojo readers – and watchers – when I leave the sparsely populated spaces of northern Arizona.
