Got up at 6am last Sunday and headed off to the Broken Arrow trailhead. There are several possible loops but so far I’ve stuck with the longest one around Twin Buttes.

It’s about 6.5 miles with over 1300 ft of total vertical, so it’s a decent workout. Lots of great views – I published one earlier – but Chicken Point is my favorite. You can see why.

The view is in a southerly direction. That’s Bell Rock in the distance.

From here I still had close to 4 miles to go, so I headed off to the left and then down to forest floor below. When it cools off a little more I will try a nearby trail, Hog Heaven, that has quite a bit more vertical. It was built by mountain bikers so it should be fun!
